What is Sabi Excited for in 2019?

Wow! This year marks our seventh year of business, and it’s humbling to see how far we’ve come! In 2011, we started Sabi Boutique as a website. I’ll never forget Natalie and I snapping pictures of products in my backyard to post online. We modeled everything ourselves, and I’m sure our neighbors thought we were crazy when we posed for pictures in headbands at the neighborhood park. It was simple: we started small with dreams to grow big. In fact, Natalie lived with Shane and I when mom, Natalie and I started Sabi, and she slept surrounded by shelves in her room full of Sabi Boutique’s merchandise. She studied for the MCAT while I worked in TV news, all while striving to make Sabi a reality.
We made our first online sale when we were in Fredericksburg celebrating our grandmother’s 90th birthday, and we literally screamed when we saw it. We’re just so thankful to all of those who supported us from the start, those who hosted trunk shows in their homes and encouraged us to keep growing. Mom said it wouldn’t be easy and it hasn’t always been—but it has been FUN and rewarding, and it’s been a blessing to be able to give back thousands of dollars to this community who has supported us all of these years.
This year, we’ll embark on a new journey as we open a second location in Century Square in College Station, Texas. We’re so excited to touch even more lives, meet new people, find more unique lines and help even more women feel confident and empowered. Plus, we’ll have exciting news about Sabi Boutique as the year goes on, and we can’t wait to share it with you!!! We are so blessed to live in such a giving and supportive community. We’re beyond thankful and blessed that you choose to shop local, to support Sabi Boutique and our families.
As for our families, it’s going to be an exciting year. Shane and I are welcoming our third child, a little girl in early May. Ireland and Declan are thrilled to have a sister and we are beyond blessed that God has given us the opportunity to love and nurture another one of his children. Mom, Queen Sabi, and our father, Papa D, will celebrate 40 years of marriage. We are thankful for their commitment to us and each other. Natalie and her husband celebrated their daughter, Parker’s, first birthday in mid-December and they continue to grow their company, Natalie Wood Designs, a beautiful jewelry line carried exclusively at Sabi Boutique. Natalie is also helping to design our Century Square location. Lance, our brother, is a wonderful husband, father to three and also an entrepreneur- you’re more likely to find him in a duck blind than at Sabi.
When we started Sabi, family was at the center and we truly believe all of you are part of our family. We pray that your 2019 will be filled with an over abundance of joy and many blessings.
What are you excited for in 2019? What are your goals for the new year? Stop by and let us know!
Thank you again for being a part of our family.
Cheers to 2019!
Love, Janis and Meredith
